Public Relations is not simply
sending out a quarterly press release as some may think.
PR is an ongoing project that builds and adds value to your
business on a daily basis.
Agreed, press releases do
play a small but important part in this process and writing
and structuring a 'good and informative' press release is
an art within its own right. The overall campaign though
is so much more. It is 'when to act' and 'when not to act'
that is key in this, and phrases such as 'all publicity
is good publicity' is not always the case.
Are the 'right' people being
seen eating in your restaurant or wearing your latest line
of clothes? If they are, does anybody know about it? Are
you providing the best business service on the planet but
haven't told a soul? If not, why not?
These may sound a little
humourous to you but this really is the way that PR is done.
The internet has opened up
the entire world to marketing and PR campaigns. This means
it is now easier to reach more people, so therefore it makes
sense to ensure it is done correctly.
